MEDIREST AND ONE RETAIL PARTNERSHIPS SHORTLISTED FOR THE 2024 HSJ PARTNERSHIP AWARDS
Compass’ Medirest and One Retail sectors have both been shortlisted for HSJ Partnership Awards, to be held in March 2024.
Medirest has been shortlisted for the ‘Long Term Partnership with the NHS Award’ for its work with Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust. Medirest has worked with Royal Surrey since 1994 and in 2014 took on the delivery of extra services including cleaning and portering, with waste and pest control added in 2021. This year, the partnership between Medirest and Royal Surrey was the first to receive triple Exemplar site status from the NHSE, for hospital portering, cleaning and catering. The NHS Exemplar recognition acknowledges the delivery of the best-in-class service and that the team will share learnings and experiences to enable other Trusts to follow suit.
Compass’ One Retail team and University Hospital Southampton have been shortlisted for ‘Social Value Initiative of the Year’, for their work creating the Wellness Hub within the hospital. The Hub was established to deliver a much-needed area that includes a free-to-use staff gym, meeting spaces and cafe. Launched on the 5 July to mark the 75th anniversary of the NHS, the hospital partnered with One Retail, Compass Group UK & Ireland’s retail sector, to include an innovative new café with a focus on health, wellbeing and social value.

The high volume - and exceptional quality – of applications once again mirrors the impressive levels of innovation and care continually being developed across the UK’s healthcare system.
The selected winners will be announced during the awards ceremony at Evolution London on 21st March 2024.
