Medirest Dietitian Honoured with British Dietetic Association Fellowship
Medirest Dietitian, Maxine Cartz, has been awarded a prestigious Fellowship by the British Dietetic Association (BDA), for her outstanding work and contribution in driving forward standards of health and nutrition in the healthcare food service sector. The honour was awarded as part of a virtual event on 4th November 2021.
The British Dietetic Association awards and honours the outstanding contributions individuals make in promoting the BDA and advancing dietetics. A Fellowship is the BDA’s highest honour and is given in recognition of over 10 years of committed and inspirational service to the BDA and dietetic profession at a national or international level. Fellows have promoted the highest standards in the science and practice of dietetics and gained recognition as a leader, role model or mentor.
Invaluable Contributions of Dietetics in the Healthcare Sector
Maxine has worked for Medirest for over 17 years, leading the charge in establishing and advising on all aspects of catering for the NHS hospitals it partners with. She is the expert interface between Dietitians, Chefs and catering teams on the ground, offering technical support and consultancy on anything related to patient dining and provision of special diets. Maxine is the Vice Chair of the BDA Food Services Specialist Group and contributed to the Hospital Food Review. She was awarded the BDA Ibex Award in 2013 and earlier this year was named on the BDA Roll of Honour for being a Covid-19 Community Hero.
Maxine Cartz, Medirest Dietitian, commented: “I'm absolutely thrilled to be receiving a BDA Fellowship - this is beyond my wildest dreams! It's such an honour to even be considered and to be recognised by one’s own profession. I am so proud to have been able to contribute to various professional dietetic strategies and the development of professional resources to promote food service dietetics.”
Steve Cenci, Compass Group UK & Ireland – Healthcare MD, commented: “It’s a privilege to work with Maxine, a true expert in her field who demonstrates dedication with every challenge. She is an asset to our business, but more importantly the field of health and nutrition for the healthcare sector. This acknowledgement is very well deserved.”
