Medirest’s Anna Hallas visits Windsor Castle to receive MBE
Medirest’s National Domestic and Infection Control Lead, Anna Hallas visited Windsor Castle on 15th December, to receive her MBE from HRH Prince Charles.
Anna was on the 2021 New Year Honours list, for her ongoing work during the pandemic – working collaboratively with NHSI/E to uphold and raise standards of cleaning and infection control across NHS hospitals. Anna was nominated by the NHS for this recognition.
Having worked for Medirest, Compass’ Healthcare division, for 24 years, Anna is instrumental in supporting its Domestic Teams in the delivery and measurement of domestic services and establishing and adhering to standards. This role has never been more important, supporting teams with the ongoing fight against Coronavirus and working collaboratively with NHSI/E.
Anna Hallas, National Domestic and Infection Control Lead, said: “It is such an honour to be recognised in this way and very humbling. Especially during such an unprecedented year when COVID has been prevalent in our hospitals and so many of our colleagues have been on the frontline.”
Steve Cenci, Managing Director, Healthcare - Compass Group UK & Ireland, said: “Anna is such an asset to our team, but also the NHS. This recognition is so well deserved, and I want to thank her for her tireless dedication, throughout her career with us, but also throughout every challenge the pandemic has brought with it.”
Adrian Eggleton, National Estates Operational Lead at NHS England and NHS Improvement, said: “Anna has played a significant role in the championing of the FM workforce in the NHS and the development of guidance in support of the national team at NHS England and NHS Improvement. This has been especially so during the COVID-19 pandemic, helping us produce procedures and training packages for the FM workforce to operate safely and effectively, which has been instrumental in the NHS response. This recognition is well deserved.”
